Purpose

♪♫  “Up above the world you fly
Like a
tea tray in the sky.
Twinkle, twinkle, little bat!
How I wonder what you’re at!” ♪

— from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
by Lewis Carroll
(1865)

sky-t-tray is a literary e-journal
served up with sides of music & science.
Like a Good Cup Of Tea:
Calming, Refreshing, Stimulating, Reviving
a contemplative pause in your busy day.

The goal of sky-t-tray is to share
some beautiful prose found in literature, to revel in
the wonders of science, to comment on books,
movies, and other puzzling or mull-worthy things—
All mixed in with a few bars of sumptuous music.

My hope is to give you something interesting to think about
(and maybe something to hum!)
as you head back into your day’s work.

“There is a freedom born from the
acknowledgement of greatness in literature …
Acknowledging any great work of art is like

being in love; one walks on air …
It is falling in love with immortality, a freedom,
a flight in paradise.”

— from An Angel at my Table
by Janet Frame
(1984)
